Campus Irena, Heverlee – 1968 Immo Eckelmans nv/sa is the first Belgian promotor which started off 40 years ago to construct studios on several universities. The concept was a confortable studio with individual bathroom, kitchen and toilet. At that time, the students could only rent rooms at individual landlords with communal kitchens and / or bathrooms. In fact, it was on this location that the thought of a solidarity with all different owners was created. All the individual owners of these studios can be certain of an monthly income whether the studio is rented or not. Campus Irena Louvain has a very high occupation grade(almost 99%), thanks to the built-to-last construction and a very strict management.
Campus Irena, Louvain-La-Neuve – 1974On demand of the university, which moved due to the language dispute between french part and the flemish part, Campus Irena LLN was erected in a new town. Since the beginning of this construction, the occupation grade lies around 95%. This realisation was a great challenge for Immo Eckelmans, since there was little or no infrastructure at the site. Still, we managed to realise 500 studios, what made us a pioneer on this location. As with every Campus, the choice of material, the architectural design, together with a strict management are a garanty for a longlasting and profitable investment.
Campus Irena, Gent – 1979 In the center of Ghent ies Campus Irena, between the Belfort and St. Jacob, which makes it an ideal location for students at the concervatory, the Vlerick management school and several high schools nearby. The building with renaissance front, was changed in 1975 to studios and apartments. In 2006 the start was given to a thourough renovation that ended in 2008. As always with Immo Eckelmans, the choice of material and techniques are of very high quality, which guarantees the quality of the studios and apartments for the next 40 years.
Campus Irena - 1979 / Alma 1990-92In Woluwe St.-Lambert (at the UCL-Brussels), we realised a diversity of buildings on grounds of the university. This complex varies with studios and classical apartments, as well as a parking with 7 levels, restaurants, a shopping mall, offices, nursury daycare, laboritories and a hotel, linked to the universitairy hospital. It is thanks to the good and close venture with the University of Woluwe that we accomplished to realise these projects. Our Campus can be reached by metro (Alma), and is close to the Woluwelaan.
Campus Irena Fase2, Louvain-La-Neuve–1992 Because of the growing needs of the internationally high recommended university of Louvain-La-Neuve, the shortage of rooms and studios became immanent. This is where we realised an extention of the existing campus, with all the latest innovations in materials and techniques. With the evolution of these techniques, the needs of the students changed as well. This resulted in apartments with 4 bedrooms, so friends could have their own apartment with each a separate room, sharing the same bathroom, kitchen and living.
Campus Irena, Elsene – 1993Campus Irena Elsene holds 548 studios and apartements and is situated at the VUB-ULB in the very hearth of Brussels. The topology of the campus is a square with a central green patio where students can meet and relax after a good study session. As with the other campusses, the groundkeeper is always available and we have our administration in the front wing.
Maison Baron Seutin, Anderlecht – 1993 The academic part of the university at the ULB is situated in Anderlecht, where we have our Campus “Baron Seutin”, built in 1993. The 220 studios are located behind the Erasmus hospital and offer students, assistants and medical personnel an ideal housing. Here as well, we have an ideal management due to our office in the building and the perfect guidance of the groundkeeper.
